Table 1:

1. Use the data in table 1 to determine , and R for each sample across X1 – X5.
2. Create a histogram for the sample data in column X5, table 1. Describe the characteristics and implications of the shape of the distribution.
3. Find the probability that Z lies between 1.22 and 2.55. P(1.22 < Z < 2.55).  Follow example 6.2, p327.
4. Construct Box Plots for the sample data in columns X1, X3, and X4. Give the five-number summary for each box plot and describe each box plots characteristics.  Which box plot shows the least variation, and which shows the most variation.

Using the standard normal distribution, with a mean of 150 and a standard deviation of 20, find the probability of a student weighing more than 170 lb.
