Servant Leadership

Robert Greenleaf in 1970 proposed a leadership theory where the leader’s primary role and motivation is to provide service to others. Greenleaf gave the society a challenge to stop and examine the relationship that exists between a leader and the followers. The use of the word servant which historically, the role a servant plays is considered low, to associate this with the role a leader plays was a food for the thought.
