Issues in Public Health Current Event Paper Instructions Public health issues are prevalent throughout the United States and worldwide. These issues can be associated with epidemics and the spread of disease, environmental disasters, community health care delivery, personal health behaviors, etc. The purpose of this written assignment is to understand and examine a public health event, and make recommendations to remedy the identified problem. The student will select a recent public health and sustainability event or problem from a professional and reputable publication and analyze the problem defined in that main article. Selection of Topic The student is free to select any current public health event, ongoing problem, or concern that includes sustainability and public health. The student will use the main topic presented in the article to frame the paper in order to examine this public health event, problem, or concern in various dimensions. The student will directly establish the public health and sustainability link in one (or more) section of the paper. Reputable sources may include online or print newspapers or scholarly journals. See the Resources Moodle book for more information on sources.
