Prospectus PowerPoint Resource
The research prospectus is an expansion of your 10 Strategic Points and will serve as the framework for your dissertation proposal. It is considered the foundational document for your dissertation. The research prospectus will also assist your dissertation chair in providing valuable feedback to guide you in your dissertation. This assignment is the next step toward completing that process.
Using the Prospectus PowerPoint template, transfer and expand the information from the 10 Strategic Points document into the slides following the instructions on the first slide. Note that subsequent slides have additional instruction details.

Literature Review: Background to the Problem
As you organize this slide, consider the following:
Describe the evolution of the research on the problem over time. Ideally, 3-5 bullets should be presented.
The last bullet point should synthesize the information in the first several bullet points to define the high-level need for the proposed study.
This section/slide leads into the Problem Space section which looks at the problem, from a variety of perspectives, using literature from the past five years to develop the one-sentence problem statement.

GCU – For Internal Use Only
This slide presents about 5-7 bullet points that trace the evolution of the literature on the problem being studied. It is important to identify what was known and what was not known for each time period. The final bullet points should be a statement defining the need for the study based on synthesizing the evolution of the literature. This slide is used in the Ten Strategic Points and in the Prospectus. These bullet points are then used to develop the Background to the Problem section in CHAPTER 2 IN THE PROPOSAL. This section/slide leads into the Problem Space section which looks at the problem, from a variety of perspectives, using literature from the past five years to develop the one-sentence problem statement.

Purpose Statement
This slide will only have one sentence.
The purpose statement should include the methodology, design, problem, population, and location.
Use the same terminology in the purpose statement as the problem statement and RQs (alignment)
