Evaluation: movie
movie: in the heat of the night Task: You will write an evaluation of the film we vote on in class. Be sure to include a brief summary of the film, the films credentials, your criteria, and evidence supporting your judgments. Purpose: The purpose of a film evaluation is to inform your audience about a particular film, and then persuade the audience whether or not they should see the film based on your analysis. Refer to chapter 9 in The Prentice Hall Guide for College Writers for evaluation tips. Audience: Your audience for this project is again two-fold. Your primary audience will be the readers of an imaginary campus newspaper. Of course, your secondary audience will be your fellow classmates and me. Genre: The genre, while in a typed format, should reflect your audience and your purpose. A newspaper article seems most appropriate, but a standard essay will be fine. Tone/Voice: Your tone should be one that reflects your experience, and purpose. If you were not a fan of the film, your voice should reflect that. Media/Design: For a typical paper, the design should reflect an essay format. However, depending on genre, design might differ. You may use textual design to reflect purpose, audience, etc. Important Features: Remember that this is not just a rant about the film. Explain and support your choices by your use of desсrіption, examples or other techniques. Remember to reflect on the film, and give your judgment. Remember to make a recommendation to your schoolmates as to whether or not they should see the film. Format Requirements: 4 page minimum (typed, double spaced, default margins, Times New Roman or Arial font size 12 or equivalent). APA format including citation of the film.
