Purpose: This assignment is intended to help students summarize and define terms in order to identify selected terms in other readings.
 
Prompt: Define what it means to you to be human. You may also find a dictionary definition of “human” and show the difference between what the dictionary says and what you think. Next, summarize one character from “Tomorrow People” that fits your definition of human. Give specific short quotes from the text that proves how the character fits into your definition. In another paragraph, summarize a character that is inhuman. The character should not completely fit your definition. Write specific quotes and examples to prove that the character is inhuman. Conclude your essay with why it is important to define what a human is.
 
Specifics: Your paper should be 1 1/2-2 pages double spaced, 12pt Times New Roman font, with 1 inch margins, and a works cited section (this section will not be counted towards the required length of the paper). I will be looking for specific responses to the paper prompt and connecting ideas to a well formulated thesis. I will also be looking at your MLA format, your grammar, and your sentence structure, however, for this paper, you will not be graded on either, simply noted for future reference. You will be graded on your Works Cited page!
