Brazil economy has been ranked 6th among largest economies in the entire world. This is based on nominal GDP. Its economy is ranked as the largest in Latin America. Brazil is among the fastest developing major economies globally. Its GDP has been growing at an average rate of five percent. However, its GDP growth dropped to 2.503 percent in the first quarter of 2013. Research has shown that there is a likelihood of the Brazilian economy rising ranks to be categorized among the first five largest economies globally in the near future. The country seems to be closing in the gap between it and China one of its greatest rivals (OECD, 2013).
